Default Palm trees at LSL square.

We went there tonight to check out the music. Just as we pulled into a spot, "bang" - something falls from a palm tree onto the top of the cart. We start looking and there are these big green pods (1" diameter & about 1.5" long) laying everywhere. I look up at the palms and find huge amounts of them still waiting to fall. They are staining the sidewalks and are extremely dangerous for our elderly to step on - they are a lawsuit waiting to happen - plus they are leaving a big mess. Who do I call to see if the pods are going to be cut down and the mess picked up?

yes that is a dangerous situation and yes this is Florida and the palms produce these pods. That being said, it should be reported to Community Watch along with a complaint that this maintenance needs attention. Homeowners hire company's to maintain & remove these pods & The Villages needs to do the same.
Glad you weren't hurt & I hope there was no damage to your cart.

Had to go to LSL this morning for shoulder therapy and the cleaning crew had gone through and cleaned the pods up. No damage, just sounded like a rock hitting the top! CW said they would turn it over to maintenance.
