Default Arrests made in the Spanish Springs bartender death

There is an article in today's Sun on page c4 of the local news section. I also heard it on the Brighthouse tv network news show. What a shame that this hard working young man lost his life to a couple of thugs .He leaves behind a young six year old son. A tragedy.

I agree it is horrible that this young man was killed by some thugs. Based on what I read in the paper, I hope the killers are charged with first degree murder, found guilty, and executed.

So what lesson can we learn from this? Maybe that we should not try to be a hero. I know we read about heros who confront bad people and stop them from committing a crime, and we all dream of being like that, but sometimes it does not work out like that.

Have any of you had experiences similar to this? Have you stepped in to confront a wrong doer? How did it work out?

I am not an attorney but this seems to be premeditated, so I believe they should be charged with murder.

They were looking for trouble and found it. I hope they all spend many years behind bars to contemplate their actions.

My deepest condolences to this young man's family, friends and girlfriend. So sad that he leaves a 6year old boy behind. Just a senseless tragedy.

Apparently the charges I read will be Manslaughter and Felony Battery! I think the charges would at least be Second Degree Murder! But the I'm no lawyer either.

Could be hard proving intent to murder given the circumstances.

"Good Heavens! Who would associate crime with these old homesteads." Sherlock Holmes

We are all at a disadvantage because we are not in possession of the facts. We also have to wait for further investigation to determine if " ïntent to harm"has been established against those charged. Clearly this is one of those flash point episodes and it makes it unlikely to be pre-mediated . The verbal exchange prior to the altercation is very important . Previous criminal record will also come into play here.

Both are out......and within hours. Most of the crimes carry low bail in this area. Wonder if they will show up for their court date on July 5th.

I read they turned themselves in to authorities. That probably had a lot to do with the bail amount. At any rate, manslaughter, if first offense, probably probation. Any legal experts out there?

Many things about this situation should be thoughts, not words, this poor guy and his family, how sad. The legal system will deal with these Jitterbugs.
