Systems What Happens
A question the residents should be concerned about is what is going to
happen to all of the IS Systems in The Villages as most are owned by the Developer. When the build out has happened what will happen with the systems. Will he keep them and charge the Residents, will he sell them to the residents and if so what will be the price and when the converting from his ownership to the residents start? How much lead time is needed to make it happen with no interruptions? Which systems are going to be impacted by the build out? Will the current locations be available for them and will the developer charge rental for these system housing? Will the developer want to charge The Villages rental for use of the system and their housing? As you can see this can be a very sizeable problem and it would not make sense to wait to the last minute as the conversions can take a significant time. |

Could you please give us a a list of the IS services you are talking about? My definition of IS services is Information Services. Are you talking about the Daily Sun and VNN or what?
Thanks, Z

Systems
There are a bunch of programs that the developer currently controls. I
believe he controls the golf programs, the programs for providing passes, the programs for gates, the programs for lights, and a whole bunch of other programs. The concern is when there is a "build out" will he still have the control over the programs? Will he rent them to the local governing bodies? To illustrate..Lets assume he packs up and leaves or disengages from The Villages..How will the program infrastructures be handled? It is a rather far reaching and potential complicated problem. |

I think that the VCCCD and the SLSCCD will take care of this. Like forever.

Too much money in it for the developer to leave..that is why he set it up the way he did!
Just look at the golf tee time set up. If there are 80000 residents in TV now, that would equal approx 40,000 residences and lets just assume 10000 of those residences sign up for the tee time reservation system at $8 per month......That $80,000 per month or $960,000 per year for a system that costs the developer pennies to start up , operate and maintain. Why would the developer leave this on the table especially with TV still growning and more people likely to sign up for this great sevice !!! |
