Default Patio furniture...lanai furniture...??

We are having a hard time finding NICE and affordable Patio furniture. We aren't finding as many choices as usual at Lowes and Home Depot. Penneys in Ocala was disappointing and the smaller, not chain places around TV that sell it are REALLY expensive. We are hoping to get two chairs and two ottomans, a love seat and coffee table for about $1500, a little more, a little less. This year the ones we are sitting on in that range don't have comfortable cushions. They are either too hard or too squishy and you feel like there isn't much you are sitting on. I would like the cushions to shed rain too.

In the Daily Sun there is a place in Orlando advertised that is supposed to manufacture it called Palm Casual.

I really don't want to go all the way down there and be disappointed. Has anyone been there...and did they think it was a good place to find a nice patio set for an affordable price??

Any input would be appreciated.

Gracie, have you tried Sam's Club? Our Sam's here at home is having clearance sales and stuff like the Broyhill Outdoor Collection is on sale. Maybe you can find something there. Also Sears might still have clearance stuff.

Try Pier One or Dockside, Gracie. Neighbors have stuff from Dockside, others have pieces from Pier One. I went looking for one patio rocker. Visited a few places around town and really couldn't afford to pay $1000 for one chair. It was going indoors, in front room office. Got a nice rocker, cushion, too from Pier One. Home Depot and Lowes aren't showing as much right now, but they do have catalogs you can look at, I believe.

A friend bought her patio furniture at Palm Casual, I believe it was. They drove down to the Orlando store and then up to the Jacksonville store to get all they wanted. I have no idea how expensive/inexpensive the items were.

Ted and Robin.

There wasn't anything in our Sams Club here in Lady Lake. Online there was a great looking group called Toronto...something and we were going to order it and....they are sold out.

At Sears in Ocala...not much there either to see.

I agree with Pooh! I was surprised by the comfort and price of the outdoor furniture at Pier One. Check out out on line as well.

Gracie, I've been to Palm Casual and was **very** disappointed. The stuff that was nice was as expensive if not more than the non-chains closer to TV. And then they had a few of the cheap pieces that weren't as nice as Loews / Home Depot.

Now I've got to say our visit to Palm Casual was 2 yrs ago, so maybe things have changed. I've just had no desire to go back.

Good luck.

It is a price shock. We put off for over two years getting the "right" set of outdoor furniture. It's hard to believe it costs more than indoor furniture! Finally, we went to Palm Casual and found them great to work with, so we ordered it.

Now, I look at it and it's really very nice but not indoor nice and it cost a whole lot. I think I'd wait to see what comes out next spring at Lowe's/Home Depot.

Do they still carry the Martha Stewart outdoor furniture at Home Depot?

We bought it 5 years ago and still holding up great, cushions are water proof.

Frontgate.com has quality outdoor furniture. I figure you buy once and enjoy. Check them out online and go to the mall and sit on their furniture, Quality counts in my opinion.

My friend who has very nice taste has her patio completely furnished with the Martha Stewart collection from Home Depot.

It was a dark brown all weather woven frame with a rusty red colored cushion.

She had tables and a storage box, all from the same grouping.
