I am looking for a good hand surgeon and advice. I have severe bone on bone pain in my right first metacarpal (the bone that is from the wrist to the thumb). I believe I may need to have the bone removed. Cortisone shots have been tried and it is no longer helping. I have heard that some Villagers have had this done and would appreciate any information and advice on surgery and good hand surgeons. I am looking for any recommendations for this surgery whether they are in The Villages or outside The Villages (Shands, Orlando, etc.) Also if there are adverse complications someone has experienced that information would be welcome as well.
