Default Patio sliding glass door replacement??

Looking to replace our patio sliding glass door and need a few good recommendations if possible. We are new to the Villages and would rather work with someone that is recommended rather then looking at all kinds of ads. Thank you in advance for any help provided!

Lowe’s, they sell excellent quality Pella sliders and have installation contractors. We love our new Pella, way better then the piece of junk that was put in when the house was built. Super smooth bearing rollers, blinds in between the glass, a screen, and a quality foot activated lock.

I second that suggestion. My husband had worked for Pella in Maine for years. We installed Pella sliders off the back of our house 17 years ago and they still worked great even with snow and ice we got in Maine.

TCDemmer, you do not state WHY you want to replace the existing slider, but if this is because it is hard operating, it may just need new rollers, which is very inexpensive, and many handyman can handle this. If on the other hand you do not like the look of the current slider, then, yes you can look at the local big box stores. A word of caution, none of these stores use their employees to install, all use subcontractors, and there have been a lot of reports of limited support from the store when the install goes bad.
