Default Patio Villa filter size?

We are not currently in the Villages, but I would like to order a replacement filter for the Carrier system and am not sure of the size of the filter. We are in Fernandina. BTW, we were told that Shortyshvac.com has the best prices on original equipment filters.

You might try calling Home Warranty and see if they know. Otherwise, you're going to have to get someone to check. If they're big ones, I've found the best price to be Amazon ($35/each). Whatever you do, don't buy them locally -- $55-65 each.

Just checked your website -- great prices there! Wonder how much shipping is (forgot to check that).

I bought one at Ace, but the heating/cooling tech. Showed me how poor fitting they are allowing too much air to bypass the filter. Anyone willing to check their filter and post the size?

Hope this helps. I have a patio villa in Fernandina with a Carrier heating/cooling unit. I took this information directly off the plate on the unit. The filter is a MERV8 with dimensions of 16 X 20 X 4
Carrier part # FILXXFNC0017.

I will be replacing after one year in Sept 2013 so can't give you a price yet. I saw two sites: cheapfilters.com and on Carrier's site the cost was $76.29 for 6 but that seems awfully cheap. Maybe I'll recheck that price because I thought they would be closer to $50 each.

Because I am mechanically-challenged, I would only use the ones recommended by the manufacturer and the Sun Kool people. Even if it costs more than most, it only gets replaced once a year and if keeps my unit working, it's good for me.

Most of the Currier filters are 19" x 20" x 4". The smaller ton units have the filter size of 16" x 20" x 4". Chances are you have a 19' x 20' x 4".......but you should check for sure prior to ordering.

The exact size of these OEM filters are a bit bigger and fit better. Both the approximate size and the exact size is listed on the filter. You have the option of ordering a MERV 8 or MERV 11 or higher.

If by chance you had a home or warranty inspection done that info should be listed on that report, as it is an item I always include on my reports. Hope that helps!

My new patio villa's filter size is 16 x 20 x 4. If this person has a patio villa, then I think the size I gave is correct. I didn't take the info from paperwork, but measured the filter myself just to be sure.

Single Track,
You are most likely correct. I have seen both sizes in Villas. Of course, the filter size is contingent on the size of the Air Handler. Today I inspected a smaller Courtyard Villa that had a 2.5 ton A/C unit and a 19x20 filter. Of course, I've seen many Patio Villas with the smaller 16x20 filter. Many Patio Villas have 2 ton units and the smaller filter size.
I did not mean to appear as disagreeing with you. The point I was trying to make is that before ordering it would be wise to make sure. Checking with a neighbor, or having a friend or neighbor actually check for sure would be the wise, worry free way.
The original poster did not say if the home was new or pre-owned but if there was a chance of him ever having an inspection done that info would most likely be on the report.

Frank

After all this I recalled I took a picture of the original filter. It is the 16-20-4. Thanks everyone.
