Does anyone have a safe room in their home or garage?
What do you think about having a safe room? Here's a website for more info. BTW-I am not connected to this company or any other safe room company or any safe room installation contractor, I just want to get some opinions about safe rooms. http://www.stormsaferoom.com/

With an EF4 or above there is no safe room. Underground is the only safe place. Now a hurricane, most likely in the place that we have would be the bathroom or the walk in clothet. No windows and well constructed.
If you are thinking of a safe room like in the movies then you would have to have an interior room hardened. That could run into quite a sum of coinage. Good luck on getting all the information that you want. Hope that this has helped some.

I'm not in the Villages, but I have been looking for one of these too.Seems to be alot of companys selling safe rooms . UP north here I would have one retrofitted in the basement. With no basement it appears you can have it bolted to the concrete in the garage. Might be better than a bathroom in the middle of the house.
