Default Golf Ride Along?

My elderly father will be visiting later this month and he doesn’t play golf. Does anyone know if a non player can ride in my cart while I play an executive course. He’ll have a guest card but I don’t want to pay for him to golf if he’s not playing.

Yes he can. When you check in at the starter shack, let them know you have a spectator. They will give you a tag (if they have any)that you attach to your cart. No cost to you at all. My wife rides along with me all the time. It gives her much amusement.

My wife doesn't really golf but I've taken her as a "ride-along" a few times on various executive courses. She brings binoculars and watches the birds. Some of our courses here are really quite pretty.

Wish I could get my wife to ride along.
Unfortunately she still plays, and 99/100 times, wins!

Here is my ride along partner when I play the executives late evening and the courses are nearly empty.

dogs aren't allowed on any of the golf courses so you go when the starter and ambassador are gone. I wonder what other rules are broken. Some folks are just more important than others I guess....*sigh*

The Villages Good Golf Guide says:
"Pets are not permitted on golf courses or practice facilities
at any time."

Well then, answer me this, why did both the starter and ambassador ask if they could pet her? The ambassador also wanted to know if it was OK to give her a treat. Based on that, I don't think they had a problem with my ride along buddy. Since she never got out of the cart and laid a paw on the course, they were totally fine with her as a spectator from the golf cart.

The ambassador and starter obviously didn't know, or didn't care.
If you think about it really really hard , I'm sure you can think of a couple of reasons why pets are not allowed.

There certainly is one very obvious reason, and I don’t have to think really hard about it. Many dog owners are irresponsible and do not have control of their pets. In my case, I was not aware pets were not allowed and would have gladly left if I was informed as such. Apparently, both the starter and ambassador properly accessed the situation at hand and came to the conclusion (this has happened more than once and at different courses) that my little girl was under my complete control and would not leave the golf cart or bother any other golfers.

Just find a starter and ambassador willing to look the other way.........
I think they should be called in for retraining.

Well, apparently you only conveniently read the posts that fit your preconceived agenda. Try reading posts # 10 & 12.
