Default quick haircut

Where is there in TV to get a quick hair cut. And walk out holding your head up. Is there a place you can walk in without an appointment and get a reasonably good haircut? It doesn't even have to be in TV proper.

I thought the same thing when I first got here. I went to Cal's Barber shop in Colony Plaza and have been happy with the results, and they don't over charge. Jerry cuts mine, but walk ins are welcomed anytime with no appointments

Is it for women? or men? or both? I do want a little more than a barber.

Not all that work at Cal's are barbers. I go to Cal's at Lake Sumter Landing. Shelly, who cuts my hair, as well as Mike's hair, is a hairdresser. Right now, it's not too difficult to just walk in. Once our seasonal friends return to TV, it might be better to schedule an appointment. we've been using Cal's for alxmost 6 years and are very happy with their service and our stylist.

I know several women who go to Cal's. There are women who work at Cal's also. If you want a particular woman, you may need an appt.

Okey dokey. So not to get picky but is Sumter or Colony have better cutters. I am planning on just walking in and saying I need a haircut so I need a few hints here as to where and who I should ask for. Or....is it safe to go to either and just take whoever is avail.
I get I can ask for Shelley and be safe. If she isn't there, any other names?

Mel is at Lake Sumter Landing....she cuts my mother-in-law's hair. I might suggest you ask for a female stylist initially. When we first started at Cal's, a male stylist cut my hair. He did an okay job, but I wasn't totally satisfied. You could just drop in and watch for a bit. You will see how each stylist works with their clients, how they cut hair. You'll be asked if you have an appointment or if not, do you need a haircut. Tell that person you are new and just want to watch so you can decide on who to ask for. Shouldn't be a problem and you'll get to see a busy, "home town" business in operation.

My wife cuts my hair and has done so for the last 35 years. She still doesn't do it right but I hate to hurt her feelings.

Pooh. Great info. Thanks. I was getting befuddled with Colony versus Lake versus SS. But I think you are right. Go and watch the women cutters. I will go to Colony since it is the closest...

Cal's is at Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter Landing, not Colony Plaza.

If you go to Spanish Springs Cals you will find half of the shop is a salon with an adjoining room that is a barbershop. They do a great job for a very fair price compared to the very overpriced other salons I encountered the first two times I ventured out here. Sharon is wonderful .
