Default Pinellas House

Does anyone know anything about the Gardena located at 1906 USEPPA OAKS LN. Something about a sinkhole? We are starting to look for a house and this looks like a great value.

Much appreciated

I don't know if this is the same house, but someone was looking at a house but he said only Citizen's (the state agency) would insure it. It apparently had some sinkhole issues and the ground was shored up but the problem is insurance. He said it was priced $30,000 less than comparable houses and was beautiful.

pinellas place sinkhole? Maybe this will shed some light, but after reading it, I can't figure out if anything was ever disclosed or if it really took place. If it really was a sink hole and has been repaired, it should be better than ever, but like the previous poster said, insurance could be an issue. Talk to your realtor and ask for a full disclosure, then shop insurance and see for yourself. There are lots of folks living in that neighborhood now, so I'd drive over an take a walk and talk to folks who would know more about any issues/fixes.

I would do a lot of checking prior to buying this house. We were in the same place as you and were directed away from that property do to sink hole issues. We just purchased a house in Collier even though it was quite a bit more. You know what they say about sounding too good to be true.

Good luck with your search.

A sinkhole that has been repaired may cause issues further down the road - these types of repairs tend not to be permanent, although each sinkhole is different. If you purchase the home you will have to supply a disclosure that the house is in a sinkhole area when you go to sell in the future. That will certainly limit your pool of buyers. I would avoid this house.

When we bought in Pinellas only one insurance company would give us sinkhole insurance, and we took it!

There is a possibility of a sinkhole under any home in the west central part of Florida. The thing to do is to ask a representative of The Villages, if it is new, or the real estate person who has it listed if it is a resale if one had been repaired.

Default Pineallas house

The agent who sells it will be getting one heck of a bonus! When we were there a month ago no matter what open house we looked at, the agents pushed at us to go buy it! They didn't use the "s" word but said it was deal.

Unusual question....do you think the bugs are attracted to sinkholes...the neighborhood ??? This is Florida....bugs are everywhere.

I don't find this an unusual post on the contrary, I read numerous comments regarding not being able to go outside because of the bug problem

Also regarding bugs on the Lani as I mentioned it all depends on your location and that is a fact. I totally agree with you on bugs everywhere but here in the Villages there are problem areas, and those areas are not Sprayed .....Hence a Problem " Major "
