Default Lanai Floor Finishes......

Our lanai has just the original concrete and I hate it. It is always dusty and dirty and looks terrible. I am going to hire someone to come pressure wash it, but then want someone to do some kind of coating that will be easier to keep clean. What have you done in your birdcage that you are happy with? And, what contractor would you recommend?

T&D just installed an above ground Bullfrog spa in a below ground vault with decking, increased the size of our lanai and installed a bird cage. They sprayed the same surface that is used for the home ceilings on the new and old lanai floor and painted it with some type of acrylic. It is great surface, easy to clean and furniture moves around easier. T&D did a fantastic job with attention to detail that amazed me. I was also pleased with their cost estimate and their corporate customer satisfaction philosophy.

We had ours painted by Driveways by Jay, added shark grip so we have a non-slip finish. Looks like cobblestone. The cost is approximately $2 / sq. ft. This matches our driveway. Very happy with the result. Minimal maintenance, and just a clear coat after several years.

We had indoor/outdoor porcelain tile put down on the enclosed portion of our lanai and also on the adjoining birdcage.

We had Chattahoochee River Rock put sown in our CYV lanai and our step at the entrance into the house. WE LOVE IT AND it feels GR8 on the feet!! one-stop shopping. they came to the house after I selected the color here. About 1 week later, they came ans did the install in one morning. GREAT STUFF! I had another finish done on my counters in the entire house...vanities AND walk in shower in it's entirety.
Artistic Design of Clermont... Bernie is the owner. Fantastic.

Another vote for Chattahoochee River Rock. It's great, and still looks like new after three years. We had Mid-State Stone put it in. Reasonable price and they did it all in one day. Not slippery when wet, and feels great if you're barefoot.

Hi, we will offer this,,,,,,,,,,,, DO NOT let an outfit called Xcalibur do the painting. His name is SAM a real rip off specialist. Check the paper, then have two or three quotes and include the product used, then be sure to have a fixed price and also a fixed completion date with no excuses. Be Careful!! There are some good recommendations on here, but not EXCALIBUR.

Chatahoochee River Rock is what we have and we love it.

We previously had it as pool decking at the Florida home where we raised our kids. It is beautiful and indestructible. Water never pools on it. It looks great and feels good under foot.

We used Matt (search posts). He's great! Did a custom color mix for us. It's a great surface!!

We had Go Concrete apply a designed coating on our birdcage floor. We selected the design. A clear coating and a non-skid material was applied. We recommend this for anyone.

Default Driveways by Jay - Beware!!!

Paid Driveways by Jay to paint driveway, walk way, lanai, and patio. Said they were going to come back to paint patio after we had additional slab poured. Made multiple calls, no return calls. We paid for our patio to be painted and they refuse to come back and paint it. Will not refund money!!!

Amy Newsome does a great job. 352-308-7410. Reasonable, professional.

Keeping a screen lanai clean is difficult. No matter what someone tells you---low pressure wash twice a year. That will do the best job possible. If you want it clean like the house, you will need to enclose it.

We as well as several neighbors have used Jay several times. We have never paid until the job was finished, and we were never asked to pay a deposit or anything up front. Is it possible that we are talking about two different people?

Also, we expanded our driveway, which was a small job, and we were told right up front that our job would be scheduled when there was another job in the area. Had to wait less than 2 weeks, and ended up with a very good job that matched the original cobblestone paint job.

We tiled our lanai and it looks great.
The best thing we did this Summer was enclose the lanai and add a Mitsubishi split ac/heat unit.
Now the lanai is like a room but clean and cool. Love it!
