We needed two Pods when we moved here. Got the first one unloaded in two days and so called for the other one to be delivered and the first one picked up. Second one hadn't even been shipped from Virginia yet and they wouldn't pick up the first one until they were ready to deliver the second one. So, for all the commenters who say it shouldn't take more than a couple of days to clear your driveway, welcome to reality.

I'm getting a Pod delivered next Friday and they are picking it up the following Monday. They really didn't give me a choice as that is what their schedule dictated. I was going to call to see if that was OK but I figured it was in the 72 hour window so I should be OK.
I did see one house in my village that had a Pod in their driveway over a month. |

Someone in my neighborhood has had two large pods filling their driveway for MONTHS. They are a block away from me and I only see them when I walk around the neighborhood, but I can’t believe it’s OK with those who live nearby. It looks terrible and seems really inconsiderate to me.

From my Villages sales agent yesterday..
Moving trucks/pods/uhauls etc. are allowed to sit for up to three full days in front of your house, to make your move as stress free as possible. This includes your motor vehicles (not normally allowed on the street) |

I once had a neighbor in another village, that during a conversation told me that she was upset because cars were parked in their driveway instead of in their garages. She said the many cars lined up in driveways "looked terrible." There is just no pleasing some folks, not that I would even attempt that chore. I doubt I would notice anything in The Villages that I would complain about, unless someone parked a truck on blocs and an old sofa in their front yard. I've seen some properties that I would not find pleasing to my decor preference, but I appreciate personalization. I would definitely NOT bother complaining about a POD or moving truck parked in a neighbor's driveway. And if I was moving OUT, I would not care what the neighbor(s) thought anyway. And I feel that being "inconsiderate" is on the part of those complaining about others when what others are doing does not effect their lifestyles whatsoever.

I've seen them many times. Call the Community Standards office and they can tell you if there is a time limit. Most likely no one will complain if you need a week or so to unload.

It is less that people are Karen's and more that people are worried that it will go from a few days to a few months.
Remember, the pods show up with people no one knows. Did these people also have a few cars on blocks in their yard and no one around them cared, or did that as well, so they think that is normal? No one knows, which is why rules are created. Same reason why there are limits to so many things I am sure almost everyone is happy the limits exist. |

Rules are rules, but if you talk to the neighbors and they do not care, you should be fine. |

I had some neighbors come introduce themselves and always reassured them with the schedule the boxes were going to be picked up. I did not check the "rules" in this regard, as I am moving in and not storing the boxes for an extended period of time. Bottom line: Do not have more boxes delivered in one pass so as to have to put them in the street and make sure you get them unloaded and picked up ASAP. You'll be fine. Either that or some of my new neighbors secretly hate me. LOL! |

Yes. That’s how I moved in almost 7 years ago. When the POD leaves your home it goes to a holding place in Ocala and then is delivered to your driveway. Mine stayed several days over the Thanksgiving weekend until it was picked up.
