Membership in MVP Health Club at Brownwood, if you're United Health Medicare Advantage, it's free starting today otherwise it's $62 a month. Go Tuesday and Thursday at 10:20 for Yoga with Suzanne. I would call it Yoga 101. She started in Dec 2015 and I've been in that class since she started. I took the previous instructor a couple of times and it was just too hard. Suzanne is as easy as it gets. Also Mon, Wed and Friday, I believe it's at 9am, with Doreem is very easy as well, I'm just not as much a morning person to take her class.

I started with Gentle Yoga with Jan Smith. It is a hour long, and is really a beginners class. She has a second class immediately after if you're up for more.
I think she is Wednesday at Bradenton, but please check ~ it has been a while since I took her class. I highly recommend Yoga. It has helped me improve my balance, and control creaks and crinks of getting older. |

Look at the Rec Guide that comes out every Thursday. There are quite a few Yoga classes listed, along with a description. If you have any questions, you can usually contact the instructor.

Do you sign up or just show up for the class?

I also like the Classical Stretch series (from PBS); it's not yoga but gentle stretching. The show may be available from your TV provider. |

For Gentle Yoga, you just show up. You should bring a mat ~ avoid the thick spongy ones ~ you need a dense mat for stability. You can get one at Wal-Mart, and if Yoga suits you, upgrade later.
A bottle of water is nice. A strap is also helpful ~ a men's silk tie is ideal. Soft but strong. Used for leg stretches. |
