Default The Villages Hospital ER

Yesterday I spent a couple hours in the ER as my man Ed had cracked some ribs - no, I didn't beat him up. LOL

The experience was to brag about - excellent service, wonderful treatment and in and out in 2 hours. (Coffee machine sux lol)

Back home in SC one would spent at leat 4 - 6 hours in an ER and be treated like a criminal.

Big shout out to all staff at The Villages ER.

Good to hear some positive feedback on TV ER. I hope Ed recovers quickly!

I have to thank you for your post on our hospital. It is so nice to hear from someone who had a pleasant experience. The other half and I have been patients and have nothing but good to say about the hospital and staff.

I totally agree.

When seconds count, it is a blessing to be so close to help. On the paperwork in our Vial of Life where it asks for hospital choice, I have: Nearest to appropriate condition.

This cannot be true..............have you not read all the very negative posts on the ER?
I guess timing is everything, good for you all!

I am so happy that someone is posting the nice service and excellent care of TVRH - ER department! Again- every system has a flaw. Stop blaming the hospital, administration and staff for the conditions of the ER. You put a small community hospital approximately 260 beds(?), in the middle of The Friendliest Town In Florida--with fulltime population 100,000 *without snowbirds*--you will get a busy Emergency Room.

Does that excuse that my husband had a severe brain bleed with symptoms yet the triage nurse did not see a problem and made us wait 5 hours? Had an emergency craniotomy. Dr. stated that much longer could have resulted in permanent brain damage or death. Where should I place the blame?

Nobody stated an excuse- the OP was stating praise for TVRH ER. His/Her experience- not yours.

Again, I know you have posted before and I am so sorry about what happened to your husband. I could debate symptoms back and forth for multiple possible medical conditions-but it wouldn't justify what you and your loved one have been through. I am glad he is okay and it was caught when it was and sorry the care was delayed.

I talked to someone yesterday who sat in The Villages ER for over 8 hours. Possible MRSA. They said it was a horrible experience. West Community Hospital on Hwy 200 in Ocala has a wait period of less than 15 minutes.

Smile

Was there twice - once with pneumonia and a-fib, last time just a-fib complications - both times was treated great by staff including nurses and doctors.
Got a pacemaker last time, so don't plan on going back, but experience was better than expected, after seeing previous posts.
I guess if you go there and should not have been in ER, only urgent care, you are going to wait a while.
