our village has a designated area for kite-flying, & battery operated racing cars/boats. i see people out there more frequently since the shutdown. it's in the Everglades rec center, just over the bridge on warm springs ave., & you can also use 301 thru fenney, but it's always under more construction than the other roads. it's a nice area & we are friendly. come check it out when you get the chance

Ironically I notice the Village Polo group is there every Sunday morning with their horses practicing. I saw at least 10 horse trailers there a couple Sundays ago. I was wondering then, why do they get to practice polo when we can't practice softball. Then I realized, the owners don't play softball. I am glad at least they got to do what they wanted. I just wish it was evenly distributed. I am not one to complain because a group gets to do their thing. I complain that people can't do their thing. Don't die trying not to get the virus. It is your duty to protect yourself, not anyone err elses duty to protect you. Stop looking for others to do for you what you can do for yourself. Germaphobics, get over yourselves. Not my job to keep you from catching something, its on you.

Actually they are practicing and holding matches not open to the public. Also that is the testing site for Covid-19.

As said the Polo Facility is not owned by the Villages. It is private property and they have been kind enough to allow us to utilize their property. There could be extenuating circumstances during this pandemic.

Default Polo Fields

I for one am very appreciative of the Villages to allow us to walk around the polo fields. It's a great place for walkers, bikers and dog walkers. By the way....they opened up the Polo fields this morning.

The OP asked a simple question. To all of those replies with a snarky response, I ask, have you never heard the admonition, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all? There's a lot of false bravado (and incivility) behind a computer keyboard it seems. When I read the comments on this forum, at times, I have to wonder how TV garnered the reputation as America's friendliest home town.

I'm a member of the kite club. The president of the club sent out an e-mail to club members on Monday, May 4th saying the polo field will be available beginning on May 5th for members to fly kites. He got permission from those in charge of the polo field. Previously the field was closed for kite flying because the field was used for virus testing.
