Does anyone own either a Roadtrek or Pleasureway van? I wonder if they are allowed to park in TV driveways.

Yes I own a 2008 Roadtrek 210P. Just downsized from a 35 ft class A Motor Home. I store the Roadtrek at The Villages RV storage area off Rolling Acres Rd. Storage fee is very reasonable. The area is paved, patrolled by villages security and is behind locked gates. Whenever I want to use it I drive over in my car, leave the car there and take out the Roadtrek. I bring it over to the house and park it overnight when I am packing to go on a trip. Because my Roadtrek is classified as an RV for insurance, IRS rules, licensing, etc., I must go by the rules of The Villages for RV's. I quote the covenants and restrictions: "Trucks, Trailers, Recreational Vehicles, Campers and Boats: All such vehicles require a clearance from your Neighborhood Watch representative to park in The Villages. A clearance is issued for a maximum of 72 hours. Vehicles which fit in a garage are exempt." My Roadtrek is too long and too high to fit in the garage. Therefore, I have a maximum of 72 hours to park it in front of the house.

We have an Airstream tt now, but have had Pleasureways in the past and are considering going back to a Pleasureway. Just wondered if they are "stealth" enough for TV. None of our 3 Pleasureways were licensed as rvs though.

If you ever visit either of The Villages RV Storage areas you will see an increasing number of Pleasureways and Roadtreks stored there. It seems more and more are downsizing from larger RV's down to Class B units. We love our Roadtrek as it has everything in it as did our large Class A Motor Home. It even has a enclosed full toilet including a shower. I must admit that it is very tight in there but we have gotten use to it. We like the maneuverability, the ability to park in a regular parking space, the 16 MPG fuel usage and the simplicity in setting up at a camp site.

Ray, would you mind telling me what model of Roadtrek you have with the enclosed shower?

We left the Pleasureway and went to the Airstream. Pleasureway would not build a totally fiberglas shower for years, but now have one. We loved our PW, but I really wanted a waterproof shower, so the Airstream. Have travelled many comfortable miles with it.

My husband has hurt his back, so we won't be traveling as much as years past, but still want something so we can visit people and have our own place to stay with our Yorkies.

We purchased a 2008 Roadtrek model 210 Popular. It is the largest unit Roadtrek makes. They extend the Chev Van Chassis, remove the Van Sides from behind the driver seat back to the tailgate and replace with a wider fiberglass wall. This adds almost a foot to the width and allows the installation of an enclosed bathroom which has the commode, sink and a shower. The extension of the frame allows me to sleep my 6' 1" frame comfortably in the twin beds in the back. Roadtrek is starting to install a full bathroom in the 190 series but it is a bit more cramped for me. Go to the Roadtrek website to see their review of the 210P. We love it. It has a full bath, microwave, gas powered generator, converter, water heater, refrigerator, tv, surround sound stereo system, gas stove, kitchen sink and cabinets, built in coffee maker, and an electric powered back seat which converts into twin beds. Inside and outside storage is acceptable. All this and we can still park the unit in a full size parking space, pay the lowest rate at The Villages RV storage lot and drive down the open road like I was in my car.
