Default Pool gas heat

About how much does it cost to heat your pool with gas? A ballpark number for the month would be good. thanks

We don't have experience with Florida, but in NC we found it was more cost efficient to use a heat pump than propane. We only heat the pools during the shoulder weeks (May and Sept) and should be about the same outside temperature as Florida in the winter. The cost to heat the pool will vary depending on the outside temperature, to what temperature you heat the pool, and if it has recently rained.

I don't know the rules in The Villages, but can you have an exposed propane tank or does it have to be underground? We've had both issues with zoning in different locations. If you can't have the tank exposed, it's the cost of putting the tank under ground, and the expense of landscaping.

With all that said, nothing beats swimming in a heated pool when the outside temperature normally would not allow you to do so!

we have a gas heater plus solar.
Our gas bill for the month of December was $187....in addition to the pool heater we have a gas hot water heater and a gas heated hot tub.

The pool is kept at 83 degrees and takes 2-3 hours to get to temp when night times get below 70. The hot tub at 100 degrees.
I do not use a thermal blanket on the pool.
It is a larger than average sized pool.
