Default Community Watch

Sunday morning I turned on the cell phone and there was a message from Community Watch asking if we were ok because the garage door was left open when they drove by at 5:00 AM. We are in PA and I immediately called the cell phone of the gentleman in the house and also the land line. There was no answer. I called Community Watch and told them I didn't get an answer when I called. Within an hour, the gentleman in the house called us and said Community Watch stopped by the house to make sure he was ok. He was embarrassed he forgot to close the door, but was fine.

We all were impressed with the Community Watch and wanted to publicly acknowledge the service they provide.. They do more than drive around looking for pink flamingos.

Just so you all know ... Community Watch does NOT turn in pink flamingo's, that would be Community Standards and a neighbor who doesn't like them.
Glad all was okay at your home.

Is it possible to find out who that neighbor who doesn't like the pink flamingos is?

I like the pink flamingos, it's the purple and blue flamingo's I don't like.

And of course everyone knows how you get a purple flamingo . . you hold it's nose till it turns purple, and of course you just tell a pink flamingo sad sad stories till it's blue.

No. Someone complained about our neighbor's yard, and they wouldn't tell her who it was.

We and others called to complain about another neighbor's yard, who had someone come in and spray something to kill all of their grass (corner lot) and led people to believe they were having it replaced. Nothing has happened in that yard for 6 weeks. There is a fine expanse of totally dead grass surrounded by orange tape on stakes (like crime scene tape only orange) and two dead magnolia trees. Another neighbor said they were suing the developer over the yard.

Anyway, when we called, they neither asked our address or name, or took down our phone number.

Newbie and still learning! I really hate generalizations and when referring to the flamingos did just that!

Thanks CFrance for the info. We have someone in our neighborhood that checks out everyone's house for perceived violations and makes sure it gets to Community Standards. You can't believe how petty this person is. BTW, we had a neighbor who had their lawn killed, and after a considerable length of time, resodded. Perhaps there is a waiting time after using a herbicide.

Do you remember how long after? It has now been 6 weeks for our neighbor. I do believe they're not there. Seems kind of disrespectful to your neighbors to kill you lawn and go home for the summer.

Anyway... hoping deed compliance will take care of it.

I found out It took three weeks from start to finish and that included reordering a second shipment of sod after the first was rejected. Something's not right after six weeks.
