Default Unhappy even in The Villages

Some people are just unhappy people who can't stand for others to be having a good time.
Last night I was attending a celebration party with ...25-30 people and a lone woman singing with her back up machine and a tamborine. The party started at 6:30 p.m. and the singer began at 7:00 p.m. By 7:40 p.m., Community watch arrived saying there was a noise complaint. Are you kidding me? It was 7:30 pm. This wasn't a rock 'n roll band, it was a lone singer and 30 people clapping and mingling. The singer turned down her back up music and as everyone was leaving around 8:45 p.m. the community watch arrived again saying if they were called again, the police would be called. I say bring them on. How absurd.
I guess some people can't bear others having a wonderful time.

Really. Seriously was this at a home or venue? Quite frankly there are some miserable sorts here in the villages too. I had someone tell me the other day there are some people who have the need and desire to complain about everything.

Some people are just angry at the world and all you can do is be thankful that you aren't one of them. I think that Community Watch might have over reacted a little by threatening to call the police. What is next - noise complaints over televisions on kissing lanais? Life is just too short to waste energy over these kinds of things.

over the six years i have been here we have lost many good times due to complaints about noise early in the evening...the people across the lake from both havana country club and rjgators complained and the music ended....i will say in both these cases it would have been easy to turn down the volume quite a bit....then the music went to red sauce and we had dancing in the street and a wonderful time until there were complaints about having to drive around the block to get past us....yes, even in the villages there are those who make life less enjoyable.

Puppy and i went out for his last pee last night around 9:45. There was a party going on in the villals behind us. It sounded like lots of fun and made me smile.

What we've done in the past, and worked, we invite the neighbors. In the invite we tell them we hope they can attend, and if not, to please let us know if the noise is annoying. What we find as an acceptable level of noise, may be too much for the neighbor. By inviting and warning, we feel we've opened the door for discussion rather than a bitter dispute.

We don't know what was going on in the lives of the person that reported the party. Had they known ahead of time there may be extra cars or noise, they may have been able to adjust their plans and leave for the evening.

At this time in our lives there is so much more than music to worry about. I just don't get it but by some of my observations here and elsewhere in the villages, I am not surprised. Can't we all just get along? We have a magnificent venue to enjoy. That also applies to folks with varying opinions. That's what makes the world go around.

When you're living on one-tenth of an acre and the houses all around you are 20 feet away, what do you expect? Reminds me of people who moved to our grassy, dune-y sprawling condo complex at Lake MI and then complained if someone walked on "their" grass.

Don't come to a place like this if you expect total privacy and quiet. If the person who complained had "special circumstances" going on, they could have come over and talked to the homeowners before calling CW.

Sorry but I have to disagree. 30 to 35 people at a house is a lot. Where were all these cars or golf carts parked. Unless this was a block party, I feel it should have been taken someplace else.

Exactly what they should have done as good neighbors. Come over and talked about it. Would'nt have hurt a thing.

People are as happy as they make up their minds to be. A. Lincoln

Some people jst like to perpetuate the idea of being older, and crabby!

If a party was a one shot deal, then it should be overlooked. If a party is given every week, that's another another story. I thought noise could not be complained about to the police, unless it was after 10 PM. 7:30 PM!!! Sheeeeseeeeee!!!!

Some people don't think anything of being rude and obnoxious to other people.
1. Saving seats in the squares, for invisible people.
2. "This is my spot"' people, before starting an aerobics class!!!
3. Yelling at people in the pools. "They got their first", so get out of the pool.
4. The "this is mine and you can't have it", type people. Acting like three year olds, fighting over a toy!!!
5. Those who feel a sense of entitlement, because they have reached the senior citizen age. Almost all of us, are senior citizens.

"Shame, Shame, Shame, On You"!!!

Life is too short, to be too little".

If the party music had been playing/singing after 9 or 10 p.m., it would be understandable (sort of).

When I see parties like this, I thank God for the hosts and attendees that they're not sitting in the nursing home or hospital, watching their spouse die slowly or going from super-intelligent to being the village idiot who's unsafe at home.

There were probably some invitees who could not go because they have to babysit their spouse having an awful disease, or adult disabled child.

Let the people have fun, as long as it's not a weekly or nightly disruption.
