Default Grocery/Golf Cart

Hi, am renting for 2 months in Fenney. I will only have a golf cart. About how far of a ride would it be to a grocery store? Area of Blue Heron Pool.
Also, how close would I be to nearest rec center?
Also, How can I change my user name on this site?
Thank you

Your landlord should be able to provide those distances.

One think too to keep in mind (if grocery stores are out of cart range) is that you can shop online and get home delivery, depending on the store. Publix for example has "instacart" where you do your shopping online and get same-day delivery to your home. It is free if over a certain amount ($35.00?) otherwise there is a small charge. I think that Publix liquors offer this too though I can't say for sure.

Other stores might offer such a service also.

Down load the Villages APP it’s free, closest shopping to Fenny area is Magnolia Shopping Center. Choice of travel is provided auto or golf cart. There are listings in index for just about everything within The Villages

Follow Fenney Way towards Village of McClure, right on Corbin Trail, left on MMP, stay straight on MMP to Magnolia shopping center.
10 minutes the most.

Instacart fees are quite expensive, that has been my experience. I use Kroger delivery and I’m happy with it. Buy as much as you want and the delivery fee is just $10. And there’s a no tipping policy.

In that area I would think of renting a car. Not much there for restarants and Brownwood is a haul without a car.

Sounds like you are a seasonal person. This will not help you for this year but next year if you come to rent for the winter months get a rental that is closer to amenities. Suggestion would be to rent in the Winifred, Belvedere, Tall Trees, Lynnhaven area just south of highway 466. Everything you could possibly need and want, and you will be very close to the best town square, Sumter Landing.
Best wishes!!

15 minutes to Publix; 5 minutes to a rec center. There. Done.

When Covid hit, we began to use Kroger Delivery. The 1st 3 orders are free delivery and after that you either pay for each delivery (I don't recall the cost) OR you can opt for a one-time-yearly fee which will pay for itself if you use the service on a regular basis. NO tipping! They'll even bring your items inside. Unfortunately they'll not put them away (joke intended) for you. The items are fresh and the prices seem better than in-store prices, so far. You'll know ahead of time if not available but if that happens during the time of ware-house selection, they'll subsitute and there's not an up-sale price. Try it first and then decide---as I said----the 1st 3X are free delivery!

You will be fine without a car if you are here to relax and enjoy the amenities. Golf, pools, rec centers abound down here and are very close by. Can't imagine you would want to shop much other than groceries as you came by plane. Publix is very nice and close to Fenney. Live music daily at Edna's and sometimes at Fenney. Half an hour to Brownwood by cart and once the golf cart paths over the Southern Oaks bridge open, not that far to Sawgrass. Come, enjoy, explore.
