Wildwood not very customer service orientated. Like Fruitland Park better.

UPS store is ok for some things, but can be expensive for others. Went there to send a small box of goodies and gifts for my son in Colarado. The UPS store wanted to charge $38. Took it the post office in Coleman and it was $16.
Half the price and the gentleman behind the counter was extremely helpful

I wonder why that is.
USPS reports $9.5B net loss in FY 2024, does not expect to hit ‘break even’ goal next year

The USPS is a nearly extinct beast. There will only be fewer, not more, physical locations.

Is it because we are all “small potatoes “ customers to UPS, yet a “huge” customer like Amazon can ship for fractions of cost up to your very doorstep? The Post Office of course also has other costs like shipping everywhere small customer or large, from Nome Alaska to a small town in Guam.

It is accessible by golf cart. There is an actual golf cart path leading out Tarrson Blvd directly into their parking lot. There is also a gate on La Plaza Grande further up leading in/out of Tarrson, and in from 441. You can also get to it over the golf cart bridge by taking a right at the dog park and riding past the waterfall on the MMP, and onto La Plaza Grande from there. In fact, if you live in the Villages NEAR the golf cart bridge, on either side, it's easier to get to the post office by golf cart than it is by car.

Just before the Villages were to cross CR44A, the developer offered property to the USPS. They politely declined.

Default Print your own labels!

Why so many people stand in line at PO's is beyond me. You have been able to print paid package labels on the US Postal website for more than 20 years. It's very easy.

Look on the Homepage: Welcome | USPS Read the text in the large navy blue box and see the printed label just to the right of it - that's what they look like and can be printed on regular printer paper.

Here's all you need:
1 - Create an account on USPS.com
2 - Buy an inexpensive scale. Make sure you place it on a hard, flat surface to use. Example: Robot or human?
3 - To get a correct postage quote - weigh package or envelope, measure it and install address (even just the zip code will give an accurate postage rate). You can also check rates without an account using this page. Retail Postage Price Calculator
4 - Print on 8 1/2 by 11 printer paper, cut it down the border line of the label and tape sufficiently to your package leaving the bar code exposed (no tape on that part).
5 - Then saunter into a PO and look for the far end of the counter where they take packages like these dropped off by people (in the know - wink). Or hand it to the clerk, if no line. You can also hand to a USPS carrier if at your Villages mail station when they are delivering.

That's it - you're done! No waiting in line ever again to ship packages. You can also order stamps from your account and they'll be mailed to you. Cheers...

The full service post office across the street from El Ranchito restaurant on the north side of 441/27 is golf cart accessible. A bigger full service post office is on CR25 and might be golf cart accessible as well. If those tee are inconvenient there is another full service post office on 301 just north of 466
