Default Power went out already with mini-storm?

This Sunday the power went out for about an hour in the South (Eastport area) with the rainstorm which wasn't even that strong.

Does power go out a lot with every rain storm or do you all think this was due to all the infrastructure here being so new still?

We live just north of the turnpike and have lost power a total of about 1.5 hours in the past 4 years. We have Duke Energy if that matters. I know people on the other side of our village who get power from the City of Leesburg haven't been as fortunate.

No, power does not go out a lot. In fact, it is quite rare.

It may not have been caused by the rain.

How long was it out? Did you report it when it when it went out? I did not loose power in the last hurricane (with Duke).

In TV since 2007 we have never had a blip of lost power with Seco including tropical or hurricane winds and a tree falling on our house.

Northern home just in 2024 whole house generator ran 37 hours not even weather related. Some months we lost power for 10 days or more

It was out about an hour on Sunday in Shady Brook. I don't think you should be worried. It is not common.

Our power has frequent glitches which many times we don't even notice. I know because I have a UPS under my desk to protect my work laptop and it records the interruptions.

We live in the north, and have Seco power and we have never lost power. Now I do have a generator, for the just in case tropical winds, or solar flair takes out the gride. No one like to sleep in Florida tropical heat.

About the same for me, and I have SECO. Power outages here are always possible because of lightning strikes, but unusual. They tend to be very short.

I’m also in Shady Brook. We didn’t lose power Sunday, at all.
Lost power for 6 hours at last octobers hurricane. Can’t complain.

We live in Hawkins just north of the turnpike close to Sawgrass. We have never lost power even through the hurricane. Make sure you immediately report it to Duke Energy so they can jump on it. They may need to work out some issues in the new infrastructure.

I haven’t had power since January. I’m running out of candles and batteries. Fortunately with all the winds down here around Eastport my windmill is spinning like a carnival ride.

We have SECO in DeLuna, and have never lost power in 2+ years. Knock on wood!
