We were just wondering if it is hard to get on the golf courses when the snowbirds are down?

Not hard for 1 or 2 people.
But, you're not going to just walk on any course any time of day. For flexibility, I recommend signing up with the villages.net. You can view open spots at all courses up to a day before you want to golf. |

If you feel impulsive and can move quickly you can always call the starter directly. They do have cancellations and no-shows which they're happy to fill with a single or couple. It's also a good way to meet new people. Don't recall meeting anyone on a golf course I didn't like.

Having said that, if you select a long "window" for play time and are not too fussy what course you get, there should be no problem. Now that the season is on us I find the two foursomes I play with weekly(executive courses) are not getting our usual times and courses. However, it is better than no golf at all. |
