Default Belvedere Blvd Golf Cart Tunnel Closed

This post is meant as a "Heads Up" to all who use the 466 tunnel ..................

On our way back from Sumter Landing this morning, saw that the golf cart tunnel which crosses under 466 from Publix/CVS/101 to Belvedere by the Library, is either closed or closing for repairs. There were several golf carts there looking at their Village maps, I presume to find another way of crossing 466. The only other way I know is to go down to Laurel Manor and cross there.

I noticed that but the sign said something about July 10? Maybe that is how long it will be closed?? Laurel Manor would be the only convenient way to get to Southern Trace from the Belvedere/ Villages High School area. Morse would be quite a winding way to get eventually back to Southern Trace.

The sign just said "July 10" or something like that when I drove by so maybe some of the golf cart drivers were confused by it?

From that other site:

Villagers are asked to use caution in this area and follow the directional signage to the tunnel at Laurel Manor for crossing under County Road 466.

If you have any questions or need additional information, contact District Property Management at (352) 753-4022.

Go around the water tower at Laurel manor, cross under 466, go under B V And follow Southern Trace to the shopping area.
No need to go way over to Morse Blvd.

From the site that must not be named...

The signs near the tunnels entrances and exits say it starts on July 10, 2017. And the news sources that must not be named mentions @ three weeks of work.

I am wondering if they will make an easier way to get to the Walmart area stores; medical, dental and vet buildings; and residence areas? Maybe some kind of deter through a stop light and then past the Villages softball fields to near the Belvedere Library????

I do not have a street legal golf cart. That might solve the problem. I have to stick to under 20 mph legal driving areas.

I live in Lynnhaven and many refer to this tunnel as the Lincoln Tunnel because years ago a Lincoln Towne Car got stuck in the tunnel.
Is this true?
If it is not true ,I will still call it the Lincoln Tunnel.
For you folks not from the northeast, the Lincoln Tunnel connects NJ with NYC.

It sure could be. I have seen vehicles turning into the entrance to it. Even a truck stuck from the north side.

We have been in Lynnhaven since June 2005. Hello neighbor.

No! This is not true.
Actually it was a conestoga wagon being used by some settlers moving west. It was trapped for more than two days and required three additional mule teams to clear the tunnel.
