Question Problems with Geckos & Gnats

I used to leave my front door open in the early morning or late in the day to get fresh air. Then a baby Gecko got in and I couldn't get it out. I'm not sure what happened to it. But I don't leave the front door open anymore. Then I found that they can get into the house by following the track of the sliding glass door, so I stuffed something into the track. I no longer use the sliding glass door. Lately I've noticed they can get into the garage through a small space at the bottom corner of the garage door. So I have to remember not to leave the house door to the garage open.

I tried to keep Geckos from getting into the front screen room but there's no way it can be done. They can get under the vinyl siding of the house and then travel to where they can enter the screen room.

So how do I get fresh air? I open a window. However, I can't leave a window open while I'm cooking. If I do, Gnats smell the food cooking and are small enough to come right through the screen.

Can someone please invent a Gnat proof-screen and a spray to keep Geckos away? I enjoy seeing Geckos when I'm out somewhere but I'm tired of seeing them around the perimeter of my house.

Being that I don't like having a Gecko walking around my house it's for sure I don't want a cat either. I'm trying to get rid of problems not add problems.

Have a screen door installed on your front door.

Geckos are hard to remove when they realize the comfort of a recliner!

They are Anoles. We do have Geckos but they are very skittish,so much you would have to search for them.Anoles favorite food are gnats and house flies. So it's kinda a win-win.

The gnats are really annoying; however the geckos do eat bugs.

Mothballs are effective against anoles - put the mothball in a slingshot and aim carefully!

Thank you, Uberschaf. No, we do not have geckos as you have said. We do have anoles and other types of lizards and everyone would be safe and correct if they simply used the term "lizards."

Cats are generally thought to be a delightful addition to a family, not a problem.
Oh well.

Oh well.
I thought the same thing and how much I love my baby. All cats deserve better than to live in loveless world.
