Default Problems with mixed up mail

Is anyone else having the same trouble with mail mix up that I am? It seems like 3-4 times a week we are getting someone else's mail and our neighbors are bringing our mail sent to them by mistake. We actually got someone else's credit card statement in our box by mistake! This type of mix ups could lead to big problems. Is the USPS ultimately responsible for these problems?

From my understanding the post office hires contractors that put the mail in your mailbox. I live in Buttonwood and have only had the wrong mail once or twice in 2 years. Whoever does your mail isn't very good and or is in too much of a hurry.

I have had the wrong mail twice and both times I put the letter into the box by the ATM for wrongly delivered mail. I think that then the carrier can see that s/he made an error. If it gets really frequent, I would call Lady Lake and tell the postal station and they can let the carrier know. If you just redeliver, then the carrier knows. JMHO

I have never had the wrong mail, but have had a note or two left by the mail carrier asking if we wanted to stop our junk mail while we are not there.

I suggest that you speak with the mail delivery person at your mailbox location. They will appreciate knowing there is a problem so that it can be corrected.

In the beginning, when Hadley was new, we had problems, as did our neighbors. Then they got it right.

We often get mail for neighbours or former residents. We just pop it into the box for wrongly delivered mail.

We have the problem where we keep getting the previous owners mail and it has been a year since we purchased the house. Plus the previous owner's are deceased so we keep writing on the envelopes "deceased" and we are still periodically still receiving this mail.

Default Go to electronic charge statements

I no longer get my charge statements through the mail for this reason. A friend had someone get her charge card statement by a misdelivery and the persons kid ran up a huge charge bill on their account. I changed over to online only then I can sign into a secure system and check it. Because the cops do nothing unless the fraud charges are over $500 even if you know who did it.

Unhappy Mixed Up and Returned Mail

I not only had mixed up mail but slsdo 3 instances of returned packages that I knew nothing about until my credit card showed the credits to the account. I complained to the postal box people and was told that it was probably delivered to my home and the neighbors stole it. How stupid was that! I went to the lady lake post office and registered a complaint with them. I received a letter back that they had spoken to the carriers about their work. That was two years ago so I thought it waw solved. But it happened again with a credit card bill being returned and I started getting phone calls from the company. Then they wanted to charge me late fees. Fortunately they didn't. It is very stressful to not trust the mails since my medcations come that way. Is this only in Duval?

The time is coming when mail delivery, as we know it, will no longer be. Can you imagine what it will be like for those who are not up-to-date with computer technology. We know several people who do not even own computers, let alone use email.

Our experience with the mail delivery in TV has been a possitive one. Can't say the same for the postal 'forwarding request' we put in for our mail here in Michigan. Problem after problem this past winter - will never put in a forwarding request again - just have our daughter collect it and mail the important things on to us.
