Default "Problems" at Spanish Springs????

I have heard on more than one occasion that in the evenings, there are some, shall we say, "undesirables" frequenting Katie Belles and the surrounding area...ie: Sex for Sale!!(Both men and women) Is this true and if so, why aren't the "authorities" monitoring the situation and cleaning it up?

ALSO...I also learned from a friend of my granddaughter's who was here visiting her grandparents that while she and another friend were at Spanish Springs last week with her parents and grandparents...but over by the little bridge by themselves...they were approached by a very drunk elderly man who had been listening in on their conversations and told them he knew the "Hannahbanana" they were talking about. (He didn't) He told them he talks to her on "************" all the time. He said she was home alone during the day and bored so he talked to her. At first he said she was his granddaughter and then he said she was a friend. He asked them where they liked to swim and they mentioned the family pool by name and he said, "maybe I could come over and swim with you". At this point they became frightened and went back to where the adults were, but he followed them and continued to harass them (while rubbing her Grandfather's shoulders) until her Father told him to leave. He continued to hang around them until her Father threatened him physically. Now THIS is VERY scary. We have hundreds of children coming here to visit and this really creeped me out. He told them he lived in the Village of Summerhill but could come over to their pool !!!

I wish the Father would have called the police when the guy was hanging around them but he didn't. :cop:

So Grandparents...make sure your grandchildren are safe and that they realize not everyone they may encounter here TV is a "nice" person!!!

P.S. These girls were only 12 years old

Such ashame. You are correct it should have been reported to the police. I have seen the police talking to people who were out of line. You need to keep your children close to you even in The Villages.

I would report this to the police now even though it happened a while ago. At least this would put the police in Lady Lake on notice that this is happening. I assume Spanish Springs Square is Lady Lake??

I mean mainly about the seeming dirty old man who harassed the 12 year olds. I would expect that the authorities already know about the ladies and gentlemen of the night.

I am amazed that people let their little ones run all around the squares. I do not let my grandchild out of my sight. It's a dangerous world. This may be TV, but we are not exempt from having pedophiles in or around the area.
