Default Proposed Outdoor Entertainment Park West of Wildwood

Today's Sun included the agenda for Sumter county commissioners. One item was for a proposed outdoor entertainment park in Wildwood. Below is an excerpt from the application and a link to the agenda item. The location is SR 44 and CR 475 .... West of where 301 and 44 intersect, so, not adjacent to Villages. Just an FYI

The applicant is requesting a Major Special Use Permit for an outdoor sports and musical
entertainment park. The applicant’s proposed operation consists of the following: an open air
stage providing for a music venue seating approximately 7500 patrons, ATV and 4x4 riding trails
and mud holes, 4x4 mud/sand track area, 4x4 rock climb area, picnic/camping areas, adventure
run mud/water course, tractor/truck pull area, grass parking area, security and first aid stations,
airboat track, equipment barn, office trailer, security/safety lighting, bathrooms, handicap
parking, helipad area, vendor area, ticket/booths, ATV/4x4 wash station, water volleyball/sand
area, announcers booth, and play ground.
Proposed days and hours of operation are as follows:
Thursday 12:00 pm for event staff only
Friday 12:00 pm for event participants and operations
all entertainment related motorized vehicle operations shall cease at
sunset
all other operations shall cease at 10:00 pm
Saturday 9:30 am for event participants and spectators
all entertainment related motorized vehicle operations shall cease at
sunset
all other operations shall cease at 10:00 pm
Sunday 9:30 am to 5:00 pm except holiday weekends, excluding Christmas, which will
follow Saturday schedules
Monday (holidays excluding Christmas) 9:30 am to 5:00 pm
Additionally, the applicant will conduct a maximum of one concert event per month with the
option of having up to five (5) one (1) day fund raising events during a twelve (12) month
calendar period. Park hours of operation for fund raising weekend one day events will be from
7:00 am to 10:00 pm.
The outdoor sports and musical entertainment park will be owned by Otsego Holdings, LLC
leased to Sumter County Outdoors, LLC.

Like 07 mentioned this should not have any impact on TV as it is west of I-75.

Looks to me like it's EAST of I-75, not WEST.

Wildwood to the Max is my vote, Gracie. Think we should sign up for rock climbing or truck pulls?

Thank you, 07, for the update.

44 and 475 meet WEST of 75. Maybe you're holding the map up-side-down.

And, of course, they are going to play Beethoven, Bach, Brahms, Mozart and the like with some Dame Joan Sutherland opera to boot.

I own property in the Oak Hill subdivision, undeveloped of course, and this butts up to it. It is definately WEST of I-75, think of going under 75 towards Inverness. Personally, I feel my property values will drop and I am against it!

Guess I should have read the whole thing, not just--...." West of where 301 and 44 intersect",.......my mistake

Just like the lady that stopped me during my morning walk and asked for help. This was south of Bonita Blvd. on the cart path next to Morse and just near the top of the hill. She wanted to get to the other side of Morse. Okay but then she showed me on her map where she wanted to go and that was near Cane Garden. I told her to turn around and take Bonita to Bailey and take a right and it will be on the left. I even pointed this out to her on the map. She said she understood and we parted ways. As I continued my walk towards Bonita I hear her pull away and thinking she would turn around and follow my directions. Nope, she continued towards Havana. Oh well, I tried.

You are right,, it will be right up against your neck of the woods,, If you were going west on 44. Go under 75. about 1 mile or so and turn right on 475. go up about another mile, it will be on the left where CR-462 meets 475.

Really? "Bubble snobbery" or someone having a chuckle about something that is now beyond their limits... Lighten up and enjoy the day.

It's just another example of Villagers taking a shot at Wildwood and improvements they are making to their community. Stay classy Villagers.
