We have a pretty big yard but I'll pass on the birdcage.
The lanai is enclosed with sliders and that makes that area fine
for inclement weather. When it's nice, the patio works just fine.

Birdcages get way too hot in summer if in direct sun,
that's a fact, and the dirt/rain still get in.

I'll take my lounger on the patio and enjoy the outdoors a bit more.
They are pretty cool, but I don't know, I don't see the functionality for the money.

This new house has a nice side yard and Sweetie doesn't want a pool, but I would love to have a birdcage with a koi pond and some pretty flowering plants and maybe a fire pit and an in ground pole lamp or lamps maybe..

Has anyone who posts here seen such a birdcage? What other things have you seen that are beautiful in a birdcage without a pool?

This will be after we get the grands outa college.

That is exactly the way we enjoy our birdcage. And we love watching the golfers in the sand traps while we read the morning paper. We added a three-person swing today, and now we can even nap in our 'cage.

It keeps the pool water a little cooler in the summer?

Love those swings! We will be on the hunt for one. I'm getting drowsy just thinking about it.

We had a cage at our home in Kissimmee. It had a factor 15 sunprotection for up to 30 minutes.
It kept all the bugs and leaves out of the pool. It will not keep 'gators from getting in. All they have to do is walk a little faster to break through the netting
