Scaring people out of planting palm trees, especially in front, makes for some barren, naked-looking streets. Palms are one of the reasons TV is so beautiful and resort-like.

We had 10 Queen Palms in Orlando and no rats or snakes however we did lose 7 trees within 8 years due to a fungus that no one knows how to cure.
Botanists at Leu gardens figure it came in with Hurricane Charley bvut no one knows for sure.
Once they start to die it will happen fast.
