Default Question re: Visiting TV but not on a LSV

We called to make a LSV appointment but were told that since I'm only 51 that we couldn't do a LSV since TV is age restricted. She said we were welcome to visit and stay in any of the local hotels.

We've decided to visit anyway and will be there mid-April. So my question, while there will we be able to 'do' anything in TV? We'd like to eat at a country club, check out the various community centers and generally see what TV is all about.

Will we be able to do that since we aren't on an official LSV?

They must have had too many underage buy?

It is a law you know that a certain percentage has to be grown ups.

Yes you can visit any country club for dinner --you can visit all the rec centers (you will not be able to participate in the activities use the pools or play golf) you can go to any of the 3 town squares and enjoy the entertainment --
You might be able to rent a home (depends on the dates ) by checking
THEVILLAGES4RENT.Com --if you do that you can get a guest pass that allows you to enjoy all the amenties
Not sure if you can get a pass by staying in the Hotel --you might ask them

The Waterfront is the most central ---right in the Lake Sumter Square

Good Luck ---

Evidently there has been a complaint filed recently. An aquaintance received this letter recently, not in TV.

Department of Housing and Urban Development
24 CFR Part 100 Implementation of the Housing for Older Person Act of 1995; Final Rule

100.307 Verification of occupancy

(a) In order for a housing facility or community to qualify as housing for persons 55 years of age or older, it must be able to produce, in response to a complaint filed under this title, verification of compliance with 100.305 through reliable surveys and affidavits.

The letter goes on to letter (i) with requirements.

The only website is: http://hud.gov/offices/fheo/library/hopa final.pdf

(i) A summary of occupancy surveys shall be available for inspection upon reasonable notice and request by any person. (Approved by the Office of Management and Budget under control number 2529-0046)

My wife and I were 49 when we did the LSV and bought a few months after that. I would try again!

Default Visit

You can rent for a week and if itdoesnot have acart you can rent a cart. Look online at thevillages daily sun classified. You can pay for the 18 hole golf clubs, eat in any restaurant, visit open houses daily, look atthe reccenters. You can not golf 9 holes, use the pools, or club activites . Have fun.

Thanks everyone for your posts and PMs.

If we like TV (and of course we will!) we're planning to rent for a month in July, so we'll be able to check out all of the amenities then.

I think that's a better option. it gives you more time to explore as TV is a hugh place. So much to see and do.

Lisa99, I am 52, and I have rented 4 times since 2011 -- each time in a different village. I will be renting again in May. Ironically I have not yet been on an official LSV through The Villages Sales office. Renting in different villages has given me a better idea of what area of TV I would someday like to buy in. Enjoy your July rental!
