Default SS Webcam obsessed

For all you TV "wanabes" are you as obsessed with the SS Webcam as much as I am?

I do not watch the other town squares that often, but every day I get to my cube at work and the first thing I do is pull up the SS Webcam. Then start day dreaming of a time when my commute is not 25 miles of stop and go traffic, but maybe stopping and waiting while another "Villager" makes thier turn to go through the tunnel.

Ahhhh, someday.

As an FYI. I am greatful that either "Mother Nature" or someone else removed the spider web across the SS Web cam lens. Being obsessed has its disadvantages too.

That was probably the horrendous rain we had Tuesday that cleared the lens for you. When we go home for the summer, my DH checks it every day, and sometimes twice. Happy gazing!

I know! Right!

It's horrible, sometimes I wish I had never spent any time in TV. If I were closer to retirement, it wouldn't be so bad. But alas I have a long way to go. But at least the plans are in place.

I don't check the cams everyday, but maybe once or twice a week.....and Spanish Springs IS my favorite.

But in my spare time (never, never at work, hehe) I do search YouTube for videos. Most recently I ran across a few of an indoor advanced volleyball league playing somewhere in TV. Have always enjoyed that sport, so it will definitely be one that I'll join in on. Good to see that a couple of the rec centers have outdoor sand courts as well. Have also watched a few of the pickleball videos, and I'll want to try it out, too.

After our LSV last December it was interesting to come back home & re-watch a lot of the YouTube videos, since so much of it was now easily recognizeable after having just been there.

A couple things I DO check daily are the re-sale home listings, as well as the open houses. I feel like the more homes I see the better idea I'll have of what's out there to choose from, once we're ready to buy.

I too check the web cams and the home prices, hoping I will be better informed when we move. It will be several years but my parents live in TV so I get withdrawals ever time we visit. I did go through open house and tour models last time, so I have a good idea of what we want

I haven't looked at the webcams yet. If I do it now, it will just depress me too much because I'm looking out the window and seeing snowflakes...blech!

This is another TV wannabee who also loves to watch the web cams. Spanish Springs is probably my favorite as I can watch the golf carts drive around the square. I am renting in the Village of Del Mar in May, so I will get another chance to drive around the square at Spanish Springs!

Where do you find the SS webcams? My parents and I are buying a home, but we won't be in TV much until cold weather. I sure do miss being there!

WHAT DO YOU CALL THE VILLAGES ??????? Just asking !!

I ask because to many use the Villages as their escape from "home", trash the place and leave. Just last Wednesday I observed a guy run over
one of the cart paths "NO CARS PLEASE" post. I drove up to check on the driver and he was fine. I asked if he was going to call Community Watch and report the incident and very rudely he replied, "NO I'M NOT, THEY WILL FIX IT" in a northern accent and drove off.

I live here fulltime and I'm sick and tired of seeing The Villages trashed during the winter months only to be repaired all summer getting ready for the next season of rudeness !!!!

We used to stand under the clock at LSL and call the grandkids on the cell phone. They would get a kick out of watching us on the computer and talking on the phone. Now we skype or use Facetime on the phone to do it. Geez, I remember when I thought Dick Tracy's wrist radio watch was too good to be true.

To see the web cams, go on The Villages - Florida's Friendliest Retirement Hometown - New Home Sales, Home Resales, Build Your Dream Home, Brownwood Paddock Square. In the upper right corner, click on the temperature in the upper right hand corner. You can see the web cams for Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing and Brownwood. Enjoy! The squares are bustling with activity!
