Default Question for those who lost power

How many times did you walk into a room and flip the wall switch?

5 times, but it never worked. The same way it never works when you talk to the golf ball, but even tour pros do that.

Once or twice for sure.
Cursed Comcast and briefly wondered why the TV wouldn't come on.
Made a note to buy a replacement bulb for the beer fridge.
Rang doorbell at neighbors to check on them.
Plugged phone in to recharge, twice.

( I was playing a Beatles compilation on my cassette player till my D batteries died. The last song was Lennon's ''Power to the People.")

How many light bulbs were changed after flipping the switch repeatedly?

I heard someone say that since the air conditioning was out that we should just open the windows and turn on the ceiling fans.

Reminds me when I working back up north. I was on call and had to call back a lady living in one of the condos on the waterfront complaining her heat pump wasn't working. I knew the area currently was without power. She insisted because she had a water source heat pump her air was hot. It took a while to finally understand there would be no cool air until the electricity is restored. She called back to thank us for saving her money since other HVAC companies ripped her off years prior.

Tried to open the garage door then realized duh if no electricity would need to do it manually.

Every room I went into.

But that's what I always do because my wife never turned off a light in her life.
And not many stove burners either.

Every time I went into the bathroom.

Oddly enough, here at the hotel I went to turn on my flashlight in the bathroom.

That hit my funny bone. I didn't lose power during this storm but have experienced power outage during Hurricane Andrew in south Florida and also Super Storm Sandy in New Jersey. Been there, done that.
