Default Quirky GPS settings

We are new to TV and still finding our way by hook or by crook.

We have a Garmin GPS (2 years old and not updated). The GPS unit has a number of default settings. One of them is that routings are set to "fastest time". The other setting is for "shortest route". Somehow, the GPS gods have designated The Villages streets to be all 20 mph streets. So most routings will then take you thru 27-441 or 466 before going on to the smaller streets.

To overcome this problem we switched to "shortest route" and have had no more problems. I don't know if other GPS manufacturers have this quirky problem concerning TV?

Default Have to Try It

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't think to try that. The distance from my house (in Amelia) to Publix should be 1 1/2 miles. My GPS was taking me over 3 miles until I looked at a map.
