It’s also amusing to walk through town and read the little placards that are mounted on posts in front of some of the buildings. Again, just to add ambience to the setting.

Are we never satisfied? We live in a place where it is much safer than nearly anywhere else, beautiful flowers and shrubbery that are well maintained, no trash on the streets, no "antique" cars on cement blocks in the front yards of homes, no run down business buildings with the windows boarded up, walking paths where you can see nature first hand, and on and on. So what if the plaques, railroad tracks, boat wrecks, light towers, etc. depict a make-believe history, it's just whimsical little things that make TV different and more interesting than other places. The same roads that brought you here can take you away from here also.

And all the time I thought those tracks at the bridge led to the Costco that they tore down to build the Lake Sumter Landing town square !!!!!!!

Have to add that there was a train station in Lady Lake that is now the home of the Lady Lake Historic Society. The trains used to run under 441 at the bridge which is now being torn down just south of Miller's Ale House.

BTW - For those who don't know, Amtrak actually has a "train station" for The Villages. It's only a bus connection but it does exist.
