Default Coolaroo Shades

Can those of you who use (or have used) these, please tell me about them? I have a northwest facing lanai and just one corner could use a shade in the late afternoon. Coolaroos seem to be a reasonably priced item for this purpose, especially since I only need a couple. I looked at them on amazon. Is there a local supplier?

Thanks!

Like ours too. My husband put ours up. We bought the dark brown color. They filter the sun but still some light gets through. Our friends have them in white and I like those too. They hold up well to weather. Ours are about 4 years old and still look new. Not faded at all. The house washer hoses them down when he comes.

We got ours from Home Depot and had them install them too. Very happy!

Default consider other brands...

We put 3 coolaroos in on our lanai. 10', 8'4" and 6'. I was so excited to get them, but looking at the situation now, I wish I had motorized shades. Coolaroos can not be ordered motorized.

It is kind of a pain to climb behind the furniture to reach the cords. The motorized shades have remotes which would make life much easier.

I do like the Coolaroos, but I wish that I had researched a bit more and found comparable shades that were motorized.

Do you home work!!

I like our coolaroos but wish there were two points of attachment for the thingies that anchor them--at the bottom and halfway up. Actually, we do have the extra attachment equipment, but the installer never called us after we bought the extra equipment (Home Depot). We just haven't done anything about that yet.

Something to consider: a friend bought the same kind of shade, but they ride in tracks on either side. I don't know what brand they are, but that would be my preference. Ours bang a lot in the wind, even when they are hooked into the attachment points. With tracks that wouldn't happen.

Ours are four years old and still look great.

I'm with you CFrance. I do wish I had looked a bit more.

OP....check out the sales at lowes and HD. We bought ours for 20% off during one of the sales. It was a big savings. They have sales every few months. Just FYI

When we ordered ours from Lowes I also ordered additional anchor points from Cooleroos Web site. When they installed ours they added the second anchor point free. We keep them at the half way point unless we want total privacy then we lower them all the way down.

They are called receivers and I ordered them from the company (Gale Pacific) for $1 a piece and added them myself.

I also ordered all in black including the cords so they don't show against the black screen frames.
