Default What's Happening to the Pond?

The pond on the east side of Canal Street on the Bacall course seems to be loosing an inordinate amount of water. What else might cause this dramatic drop besides evaporation?

Lots of irrigation/watering due to fall overseeding and very little rain lately.

I'm no expert, but, doesn't look like a sinkhole or other nefarious causes.

Sinkholes frequently drain ponds in The Villages. I see one or two ponds every year that lose their water until they get them patched up and filled in so the water stays put!

The pond in Alhambra (sort of across El Camino Real from The Savanah Center) drained earlier this year due to a sink hole. They did lots of work to patch it up, including repaving some lanes of El Camino Real - to no avail. The pond is back to mudhole status. Glad I didn't pay a big premium for "waterfront property" on that pond.

Bryan I agree, especially since finding out that it is stated in writing when buying a waterview lot, that the pond, "may or may not hold water".
