Default Rebuilding Paradise Rec Center

I read in the “other online local news” that destruction and rebuilding of Paradise Rec Center, to include pool, will cost $19.5 million. That seems high to me. I realize construction costs are up nowadays but still . . .

You left this out…….
Renovating the recreation center would cost about $18.5 million. Demolishing and rebuilding the recreation center would cost about $19.5 million, according to a presentation by Bruce Brown of District Property Management.

Doesn’t make sense to renovate it when rebuilding is a bit more.

Because it's OLD and UGLY... No place to sit like other rec centers with huge couches, tables and nice atmosphere...
Tear it down, they have the money, after that they can work on their local Golf Courses...
How much did they spend on Silver Lake GC, they kept it basically the same layout...
