Our lanai is partially under roof with rest under birdcage with a small pool. Home is one year old with the typical acrylic painted flooring done by TV. We are finding this flooring is very hard to keep clean, and it does get slippery. Looked into decorative concrete but was told it could get very pricey due to having to "grind" off the existing acrylic layer on lanai because these products will not adhere to it (like it does to a concrete driveway or garage!)

What products or types of flooring have others used that they are happy with?

Just throwing this out there, not sure if it would work for you (or if it works at all). When I had a painted driveway at my old home in SW FL it was slippery when I put a fresh coat of sealer on it. I was told at Home Depot (and by other people) that there was an additive I could put in the sealer, ground up sharks teeth, or something like that, that would give the sealer some grit, and take the slip off. I never did it, but thinking you might look in to that. I'm sure your painted lanai is pretty, and this may be the most economical way to get the "slippery" off of it.

We had Chatahoochee River Rock installed on the lanai last summer. It's great, and needs virtually no maintenance. What convinced us was visiting a home near Spanish Springs that had it installed 15 years ago, and except for a small area slightly faded by the sun, the floor looked brand new. It was Mid-State Stone that did ours. They had a display at Market of Marion.

This is exactly what I had on my lanai in Cape Coral. This needs to be coated with a clear coat periodically. (I did mine every year. Pressure clean then coat. Mighta been overkill, but I loved it shiny.) It's beautiful. I loved it and was surprised they moved away from using it.

Chattahoochee Riverrock ...Mid State Stone ( Mike 352-245-1990 ) did ours 8 yrs ago and we love everything about it. Matt Allums is another contractor who is reputable with the same product 352-253-0622.

I think the tile that looks like wood planks would be ideal, but I don't know if it's made for outdoors.

Home Depot carries a new outdoor flooring product from Rustoleum. It is similar to a very thick paint with small pieces of something that add texture. I applied it several months ago to my front door walkway and to my lanai. My wife and I both really like it. It only comes in brown and gray colors. It costs about $50 per gallon and it only covers about 50 square feet per gallon. It is very durable.
