Default Recommended Insurance Agents

Other than "The Villages", does anyone recommend their agent.

Been here 7 years, no claims:

Home has gone from $1300 to $2200
Auto has gone from $800 to $1600
Golf Cart has gone from $150 to $355 (Have a STAR EV rated at 24 MPH

I'm not impressed with the companies "TV" uses.

Cheers

Most of the agents use the same companies in Florida, especially homeowners insurance, If your home is newer you might get insurance from State Farm. Not a lot of choices in Florida

We went with the Guardian Insurance Group Inc. in Clermont, Fl.
352-444-7160

Policy is with Spinnaker Ins Agency out of Texas. Much less expensive than Tower Hill and Kin.

I went with Joanna Green w/Bird Insurance, 352-489-1992. She was very helpful.

I am thinking about Loggerhead homeowners insurance, out of St petersburg FL, through a Claremont Agency called Guardianfl.
Any experience with this group?

The so called "agent" really doesn't have anything to do with the cost for the insurance. The cost is set by the insurance company. I have Progressive for homeowner's and State Farm for auto. As far as I know, the only two auto insurance companies who will offer more than $250K in auto liability insurance are State Farm and Allstate. They both offer up to $1 million. To me, $250K is not enough, and umbrella policies are too expensive.

OP, if you have uninsured motorist (UM) coverage, know that it is optional in Florida, but mandatory in many other states. Some people will disagree, but I save a few hundred dollars per year by rejecting UM coverage. For many retirees, it is not needed and it is mostly redundant with your medical insurance. I certainly don't need it. I have collision, comprehensive, and liability coverage only. I don't have a golf cart.

So everything doubled in seven years. That aligns with pretty much with all the costs in my life. I hope you find cheaper rates, but I'm not optimistic because I know I pay more.

Good luck finding better rates. There are lots of things to love about the Villages, but reasonably priced property and casualty (home and auto) insurance isn’t one of them. Actually, the home and auto rates listed above appear pretty reasonable by Florida standards, but the golf cart insurance is outrageous. We pay half that to insure three gas golf carts. Not sure if that is because you have an electric cart since I’ve never owned one?
