Today is the 75th anniversary of VE-Day

And in my opinion today is just as important as the 4th of July, today meant civilization would be guaranteed to survive as we have known it and it meant the holocaust was over

And, since Harold Schwartz, the founder of The Villages was Jewish, it meant he would live & give the world the best retirement place ever

Happy VE-Day & thanks to all the Vets and this includes , the GI-Joes, the Tommies, the Ivan's and all the allied forces

Its a shame that Covid--had to put a damper that would have been a really huge world wide celebration

It is a national holiday in the U.K., but the street parties and parades that were planned had to be cancelled because of the Chinese Virus 👿, but the song by UK singer Vera Lynn sums it up “we’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know when, but I know we’ll meet again, some sunny day”

In UK today in our daughters village a few miles from us, they are still going to hold their party, but all on their own front yards/gardens.
Unfortunately we cannot join them, but never mind, wife and I both went to the original party, back in '45.
My street party then was quite memorable, as most of the kids, and some adults finished the day with diarrhea, due to some dodgy fish paste sandwiches!
