Default Recycling Plastic Bags

I really like that the DS comes in a plastic bag. However, The Villages recycling program does not want these type of bags in the recycle items. I don’t like throwing them in the trash. Can these be recycled along with the plastic grocery bags?

The plastic bags from grocers are not recyclable, they have to be put in regular trash. I've since learned they can be turned in at local grocers and that I will do.

Any of the grocery stores or Walmart will take back the plastic grocery bags, they usually have a special bin for them. I reuse them to scoop the litter box every day. What is DS?

DS is the Daily Sun. We put all plastic bags in the recycle bins at the grocery stores and/or Walmart also. Not sure they are recycled or destroyed in a not toxic process, but at least they stay out of the landfills.

I am pretty sure that Operation Shoebox uses those bags that the newspaper comes in. Look up when they meet, and drop them off.

Publix has bins outside the door for recycling. Bags go in the the one labeled plastic bags and foam trays, egg cartons, etc. in the other. There's a third one but I've never used it, so I can't tell you what the sign is on it.

I believe that Asianthree was using a play on words for humor.

I feel sure that Asianthree was most sincere in saying;
"Operation Shoe box is a great bunch of volunteers that make boxes to send to troups."

Asianthree is helpful and positive when she posts.

AND she is right that Operation Shoebox does much good by sending small boxes of good things to our men and women in the service who are far from home.

I put all my grocery, retail store plastic bags and newspaper plastic bags in the recycle receptacles at Publix or Winn Dixie. I hope the newspaper bags are OK to put in there.
