I am aware that if a person gives up buying a new home they will loose the money they put down to hold that property. If they decide to buy a new home again at a later date the funds will be refunded at closing.
I am also aware that the selling and buying of a resale is between buyer and seller only.(even if they work with a Village Rep.which we did). Last year we did put money down on property in order to build a new home, which we were in the process of doing. We were so sure that this was going to happen that we only held the property for three months. The cost was 5,000.00. Due to unforseen circumstances (that we did share with our rep.) we were not able to go through with the deal and lost the deposit to the builder. With our circumstances changing we started looking for a home again. We did find a home, this time a resale still in The Villages (we are closing on Oct.28). My rep. has told me not to bother asking for the money to be refunded at closing as I am not intitled to it because we did not buy a new home. I am in full understanding of this, however, would so very much want plead to either Gary or Mark Morse to bend the rule for us. We have lived her for nine years, love it and have a certain respect for the family and their vision. Does anyone have any advice on how to get in touch with the family as we would so much like to speak with them personally and ask them to help us out however thay can. We have no way of getting in touch with either Gary or Mark. We feel they are the only ones that could do this for us. Our lips would be sealed and our hearts forever grateful. Thank you to anyone that can help us out. |

I would call the sales office and speak to Jennifer Parr. She's the family member who's in charge of sales - new and resales Good luck.

Is the house you are buying one that was being sold by Villages Properties? If so, you might stand a very small chance of getting your initial deposit returned. If it was sold by a MLS agency, you are definitely out of luck.
The deposit was to hold a specific lot and that was their guarantee you would be closing on that lot. Sadly, when you could not close on that lot, you also lost your deposit because the Developer could not sell that lot while you were waiting. I wish you all the luck in getting your money - but sadly doubt it will happen. Anyhow, you will be coming to The Villages and even the loss of a deposit will be soon forgotten with your new lifestyle. |
