Default Registered Nurses

Any RNs still practicing? Any retired? Any with ideas whether to work or not?
Am interested in their views on the lifestyle in the Villages.

Default Re: Registered Nurses

The Villages Hospital is going through growing pains right now so working there there can be a bit of a challenge at times. I work full time and the benefits are excellent. However, if you choose to just work for health care you only have to work 20 hours per week. That is one of the reasons the nurses at the hospital are so nice....two shifts per week....not a bad deal at all. The hospital tries very hard to make it a good place for "almost retired" nurses to work.....goal is 5 med surg patients per nurse....O.K. sometimes if the admissions are bad it can be 6 but no more. Villages and nursing is a great fit.

Judy,

Can you give me an idea of the pay range? I'm sure it's not as high as here in MA.

That was good news about receiveing health benefit with 20 hrs +.

With TVRH going to almost 200 beds how has the nursing staff kept pace? Still a shortage?

I look forward to working there in a few years.

Russ
