Default Classified Ads

I noticed when I post an ad selling an item, hundreds view it, but rarely someone buys. I was told my price was too high, but that is nonsense, because 2 of those items, both receiving over 400 views each on this site, I test posted on EBay at a higher price, because I added free shipping. Both sold within a day, disproving the high price theory.
Do people one this site just look at items for sale, with no intention of buying? The reason I use this site is because I do not want to deal with packaging, shipping and fees.

I look at a lot of items, I buy what I need or interests me, I do not buy: wrong color, wrong size, too old, to costly, Chinese made or for any number of other reasons. No idea what you are selling so I cannot offer specific comments, but i do look at the classifieds on a daily basis. One other item that will cause me not to buy, an incomplete description of the item or no pictures.

Are those eBay buyers in TV? Probably not. Your prices may be too high for this market, not too high for whoever bought your item - they may have limited access, want exactly what you have or any variety of reasons. I look at the ads almost daily, buy a few items, in general I do think the prices are too high on many items, not all. If you don'ts want to bother with packing & shipping lower your price here and see what happens. Maybe the item isn't something that most villagers want/need?

"Every house will sell quickly if it is priced correctly." This is 100% true. If your house isn't selling, you have it priced too high. Now that doesn't mean your price is too high if that house was in the SF Bay area instead of rural North Dakota, it only means it is too high for ND.

Maybe the same applies to whatever you were trying to sell?

I have had a lot of success using this site. I use it for odds and ends I no longer need or want and price the item a little more that "garage sale" price.

I advertise here and on Craigs list for items that need a specific buyer - like stained glass supplies for instance. I ignore the Craigs List scammers; i.e. "I'll send you a certified check..."

I don't fool with Ebay because I only buy/sell in person.

The eBay app is used by 3.67 million users in the US every month so, with a hugely bigger audience, you are far more likely to sell there than on TOTV.

Most of the things I have advertised on TOTV sold within a week but some items (inkjet printer, golf clubs) attracted no interest, even when I dropped the price considerably.
