Default Just back from 6 day LSP

A few observations:

Could not find anyone with a bad word - our first night talked to someone at the square who said "what's not to like?" That became our mantra for the week:-)

Enjoyed meeting several of you at Crispers last Friday. We had to leave a little early to meet a sales rep, but had some great conversations and more positive vibes.

Went to the squares every night and saw the yesteryear carts on display as well as the vintage cars at Spanish Springs. The entertainment exceeded our expectations.

Went to several of the rec centers - Lake Miona nautical decor blew me away and sea breeze was awesome.

Played Palmer and Cane Garden. Both nice tracks - we found Cane to be the more challanging, partly because we played the blues after we found the whites at Palmer to be a little too short.

Ate at TooJays three times (dinner, lunch and bkfst), the Veranda - the ladies loved the salads, Palmer, Cane (good value), the Lighthouse (also good value and fun sitting by the lake, Katie Belles (Sunday brunch) and Gators. Enjoyed all and had good experiences at each.

Went to Polo matches on Sunday. Called my son and said you will not guess where I am, and what I'm doing if I gave you a thousand tries. After I told him he said I was right, he would never have guessed.

Went to Hope Lutheran on Sunday and felt very comfortable there.

Went to Realto and say Date Night on Saturday -- haven't laughed so hard in a movie for years.

My wife, Lila, and our two close friends, James and Dorothy stayed together at Creekside Landing. The villa they put us in was very nice. My wife was very skeptical about the hype coming in - by Saturday she was asking how soon we could move. Our friends are also likely to buy, but we are all going to return next Jan./Feb. for a rental so we can get a more complete picture and feel for where we want to be. We really liked Winfred, Tall Trees, Bonnybrook, and Virginia Trace for location.

Again thanks to all of you for the incredible information I have gleaned from your insights, as I was less surprised than the rest of our party because of this great site. BTW Tony and Talk Host, I talked to numerous residents and mentioned I got lots of great info on TOTV and told them they should get on.

We had a very similar, very positive experience last year so we are returning this year for more than two weeks to concentrate on housing selection. Based on advice from others on TOTV spending more time before making your housing choice is a good idea. Our rep told us people average three moves within TV! I want to make one, and be done. I think you are wise to return.

The people in TV, and those on this forum are great... This is a very good resource.

Hi eweissenbach,
Like your wife, on our first visit, I thought I would find TV all hype. Like all of you, I drank the kool-aide everywhere I went and drink it every time I have a chance to get down.

Happy house hunting!

I visited TV twice, brought the wife down and all else is history. Bought a villa and will be full time in 2011.

I feel like a broken record BUT, be sure and check out Lake County homes in TV, and save yourself between $10,000 and $20,000...NO bond

We are all the same on our first visit, "This place can't be true or that good". Doesn't take long to change your feeling about it!
We knew on first trip, it was for us and began looking, bought 3 months later and have not been sorry once!

We will eventually buy, but wanted to spend more time to get a feel for where and what. Thus we are renting a house in Tall Trees for next January and February. By the way, we had a great visit with many at the Crispers get-together, but particularly Steve (swrinfla), who gave us many insights and is a fellow Missourian. Thanks Steve!!!!

Came in March on the Lifestyle visit and bought a Lily in Duval. I have looked and researched houses for two years. Lily had the perfect floorplan and Duval is where some friends already live. Sold our house in three days and will be in The Villages on June 8th!! I can't wait.
