its more likely that those wearing hearing aides would remove them because of the high noise level

Went to Lighthouse Point Bar & Grille back in January. Loud would not describe the noise. The diners were bad enough, but when the music came on, and the staff did their 'Hand Jive?' thing, a cacophony of sound would best describe the racket. Even with my two hearing aids out it was awful.
Ate up, got out, and will never return.

Actually, HA's can be very helpful in those conditions.
My Starkey digital HA's have a noisy environment setting. Sitting with your back to the loudest noises allow the directional mics to do a great job in restaurants.

With new hearing aid technology I can hear better in a crowded room now, then my sweetie who doesn't need them.

There are MANY places here that have horrible acoustics and seem to magnify noise. I can think of two, right away; Glenview Restaurant, especially on the porch, and The Lighthouse.
