You have no idea how many times I've bitten my tongue.

Yes, I agree with you. I hope to stay alive for another 15 years or so, and I'm willing to put up with a little inconvenience in order to do so.

Can't imagine what the air was like in that submarine, not to mention the claustrophobia. This is nothing compared to that.

In all reality the air in the sub was soo clean, it was unbelievable the stench of the outside world, when the hatch was opened when we surfaced--the smell almost gagged you

They keep adding increments to the confinement. 10 days at 30 times and you got yourself a year

Hello Chatbrat,

As a side note, since I am tired of talking about the quarantine, the Scorpion was the real subject of the search by Robert Ballard who then went on to find the Titanic.
My question however, is: have you read the book Blind Man’s Bluff? It discusses the espionage and submarine events of the cold war era. How accurate was this book?
Thanks.

You are so lucky, you have a home to stay in. Perhaps thinking of all the people in America who have no home might be worth a minute of valuable time.

Sometimes we give a little to get a lot.

Your message ( and the ones following) has a chest beating underlining. Thanks for your service but we don't need all the stats. My late husband was a sniper in the Marines during the Vietnam war. He saw and participated horrific things. Lacking TP was not one of them

First thank you for your service!
My Father was on the USS Haddo, in world war two. They were present as were other subs, at the signing of the surrender of Japan.
Some one busted into a storage area and stole my album with the pictures my Dad had from his days in the navy. I wish I had these to share with my children.
Anyway have a blessed, and safe day!

The old submariners who made war patrols during WWll are the true heroes of the submarine force--we lost 52 boats, had the highest casualties percentage of any service and sunk the most tonnage despite being less than 2% of the entire navy

The first boat I served on was an old diesel boat that had made a few war patrols--that boat was claustrophobic

And toilet paper was the least of our problems-- the cooks ran out of flour --got very creative with saltine crackers

The economy has to open up in conjunction with plan to minimize spread of the virus. One will not succeed without the other.
