Default Really Frustrated!!!

I am sitting in my kitchen and just want to scream, but I'm afraid my neighbors will complain.

Twice this week, I have had no shows from business people that I have made appointments with and they both come highly recommended here on TOTV. I have waited and waited, no call, no show, nothing. I do a lot of work in preparation to be sure I'm ready for when they come, only to sit here waiting and waiting and waiting, I'm so mad.

You may be surprised at the first one, Investment Painting!!! First it took him 2 days to even return my phone call to make the appointment, then he doesn't even show up for that appointment. They came so highly recommended that I was really looking forward to working with them.

The second one is a housekeeper, Debbie Giroux, again she was highly recommended, we spoke and set up for her to be here today at 11:00, again, no call, and no show. I do a lot of prep work for a cleaner, I literally take everything off all shelves, bureaus and counters, so there is nothing to move around and everything off the floors except furniture.

I am so mad, why do people do business this way, can't they keep their own calendars straight, are they so busy, they overbook and just ignore some.

Thanks for listening and letting me vent.

Stood up twice in one week?!? I think you're showing great restraint.

Hang in there.

What did the painting company say? I'm surprised they would just not show up without a call or anything...

Tell them to call you 1hour before they come. Then do what you have to do.

Oh wow! That’s terrible. We used Omar’s for painting. Very good job. No complaints. Now house cleaners...that’s another story

I'm surprised also, considering how highly recommended they are. They didn't say anything, I have not heard from them. I will not call them, at least til I calm down a bit.

I have to say that Debbie Giroux did call me a few minutes ago and apologized profusely. Her explanation was understandable and we set up another date. She even offered to work on Sunday.

Try Oscar's for painting-great guy, knew him when he first got started--success hasn't spoiled him

Oscar’s crew did a great job. Finished the whole inside in a day ( two coats ) .
He had a color consultant come in first . Price was very good.

Word to anyone shopping for contractors--get at least 3 bids--throw out the high and the low bid, go with the middle bidder

IMHO--the low bidder is hungry for work, the high guy is looking to make a killing --the middle guy knows the market and has more than enough work

I'm just saying though, maybe they had the wrong day. You could find out some mitigating info. Maybe the guy was stuck in the Culver's drive thru covered in custard from a custard malfunction.

You never know and you might feel bad if it was something serious. Then again, maybe they just didn't care to meet with you.

Sounds like you need a nice event to fall in your lap. Give Steve Kling a call. His price was fair, I didn't have to negotiate with him. The work was perfect. PERFECT. Very respectful crew who manage themselves and do whatever in needed to make you happy. Steve will even help with colors if you need the help. First-rate materials and not B.S. Good Luck.

I feel your pain. There are very few things that anger me more than a no-show.

I'm definitely with you. I should have launched Centurylink already but the alternative is Comcast and I sat there for 3 days about 10 years ago waiting for service. I can't forgive & forget sometimes. The no call is really the final straw. It is abusive.

My contact with Chris at Investment Painting was 7 years ago, the same situation, I had read a lot of great reviews. I contacted him by phone when I was still in Maryland and said I was closing on my home July 5th and I wanted the inside painted the next day so when the furniture arrived, there would be no problem. He said, I'll put you down for July 6th and asked what kind of home and location.

A week later I had arrived and was staying at the Holiday Inn in SS and I called Chris and said I'm here, when can we meet, I need to give you a paint sample and discuss the details. It was Thursday June 30th and that weekend was the 4th of July holiday. We ended up meeting on Tuesday on the sidewalk outside the closing office at LSL. He showed on time and I gave him the paint sample and he said it would be $1100 to paint the inside of my CYV. The next day himself and a crew of 4 showed up. Took down all the window blinds, masked all the trimwood and painted and were cleaned up and out the door by 4pm.
